Integration with and for customers
Consolidation is a continuous trend in many industries. Customers integrate to larger companies, and so do suppliers. This happens for a reason. When customers get larger, they expect the suppliers also to be able to serve locally in all countries they choose to go.
This also applies to cable industry. Prysmian Group consists of Prysmian Cables & Systems and Draka – two strong brands worldwide and also very strong in Finland. The integration meant combining strengths of two companies – the one in power distribution and submarine and the other in telecoms and smaller energy cables. Due to the strong brands the decision was made to continue to use both
Prysmian Group also has very proud Finnish history – the first cable factory, Suomen Punomotehdas was established in 1912. Since then we have made cables for Finns, by Finns and in Finland, now for 100 years.
Comprehensive product portfolio and experience we have today are due to close cooperation with customers from all sectors of Finnish industry.
In practice, it means developing e.g. special cables for telecoms solutions with Finnish Defense Forces, power cables with energy companies, trunk telecom cables with telecom operators, installation cables with construction industry and contractors.
